I Tested Dr. Bronner’s Organic Soap

I don’t like to write about a product until I’ve tried it for at least one month. I started testing this soap in June 2011.  Dr. Bronner’s soap has really helped my eczema.  My dermatologist had always told me, that it is best not to use any actual soap products on my sensitive skin and certainly nothing with fragrance. For years he told me  to use a non-soap cleaning bar like Dove for Sensitive Skin. I have also tried Cetaphil Cleansing Bars, and Purpose and Basis soaps, they all irritated my skin to some degree.

A reader suggested I try Dr. Bronner’s soap for my Eczema. Her daughter who had terrible eczema had used it with great success. I decided to test Dr. Bronner’s soap for a month and I’m still using it in January 2012. . . [read full blog on my Allergy Comfort Zone web site.]

  1. Hi, just discovered Dr. Bronner’s soap. I use the almond hemp and I love it. I also used the lavender coconut hand and body lotion. This gave me a severe hive, blistery rash on my legs where I used it. Maybe from the lavender? So sad because I really wanted it to work. I’m trying the mild baby body balm next instead of lotion. Hope that works.

  4. Thank you for a website that covers many allergies. I have a lot of them and love to read about real people who have found comfort. I know Dr. Bronners soap has been around for quite some time, but I had forgot about it. I bought some the other day and my skin feels smooth and “relaxed”. I know relaxed is a strange word to use for skin, but normally my skin feels tight, itchy and uncomfortable. I love the many organic oil fragrances. I took a chance and tried the Rose. I love the smell of roses. I liked all the smells, but the peppermint seemed rather strong to me. May try citrus orange next time.

  5. I forgot all about Dr. Bronners Soap, thanks for reminding me. I loved it in my “hippy” days. It smells so nice and it really is soothing. It’s been around for ages, must be a good reason. Thanks Gloria
